Do I qualify for weight loss surgery?
Those who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) above 40 may usually qualify for weight loss surgery. It is also an option for people with a BMI of 35 to 40 who are experiencing serious health problems as a direct result of obesity such as Type II diabetes, sleep apnea, or heart disease. Lower-risk procedures such as gastric banding and gastric sleeve are sometimes offered to patients with a BMI of 30-35 on a case-by-case basis.
Is weight loss surgery robotic-assisted?
In most cases, yes. We use daVinvci technology. With daVinci, your surgeon sits at a console next to you and operates using tiny instruments through a few small incisions. A camera provides a high-definition, 3D magnified view inside your body. Every hand movement your surgeon makes is translated by the da Vinci System in real-time to bend and rotate the instruments with precision. In many cases, robotic-assisted surgeries are less painful for patients than traditional laparoscopic surgeries.
What type of resources are offered before and after surgery?
We will work with you to prepare pre-operation and to support you post-operation. We have a pre-op program that includes a pre-operation diet. Post-operation you’ll have a full post-operation nutrition plan, regularly scheduled follow-up appointments, and access to our on-site dietician.
What types of medications do you offer?
We offer a variety of different medications including Adipex-P® (Phentermine), Qsymia (Phentermine/Topamax), Contrave (Bupropion/Naltrexone), Saxenda (Liraglutide), Wegovy (Semaglutide), and Plenity.
